Leeds United winger Jack Harrison has urged his teammates to keep going and not worry about Sheffield United, in the race for automatic promotion from the Championship.

The 22-year-old scored the winner on Saturday evening as Leeds beat Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road, to move three points ahead of Sheffield United in the promotion race.

Marcelo Bielsa's side now face two potentially season-defining matches over the Easter weekend, with Wigan Athletic visiting Elland Road on Friday afternoon before a trip to Brentford on Monday evening.

With just four matches to go, Harrison has urged his Leeds teammates to keep going and focus on themselves, rather than worry about their promotion rivals Sheffield United.

“The manager always says to focus on what we can control and not to be too concerned about anybody else and as a team we know that and we play at our best when we are not worried about anybody else,” Harrison told the club's official website.

“Confidence is important, not only for myself but for the team as well and you can see that with how we are playing and passing the ball around really well.

“The support around us with the fans being incredible only sets us up for success really and we can’t ask for anymore.

“It’s in our hands, we just have to keep going.”

Sheffield United are also in action over the weekend and cannot afford to drop any more points, with Leeds threatening to pull away in the promotion race.

The Blades face Nottingham Forest at Bramall Lane on Friday, before travelling to the KCOM Stadium to face Hull City on Monday.

The Verdict:

Harrison is right.

Leeds have put themselves in a great position to win automatic promotion and have an opportunity to take a major step towards the Premier League by delivering back-to-back wins this weekend.

At such a crucial stage of the campaign, the players have to focus on themselves, they cannot afford to get distracted by Sheffield United. If they can do that, they have every chance of ending the season with automatic promotion.
