Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish has aimed a cheeky dig at rivals Birmingham City as the club looked back at a previous win over Blues.

It's a fixture that Villa have dominated recently, with the last win for Blues coming a decade ago in the cup and they haven't beat them in the league since 2005.

And, one Villa win came on this day in 2010, when a late James Milner penalty enough to seal three points for Martin O'Neill's men at Villa Park, with the club looking back to the game on their Instagram this morning.

Whilst the penalty that decided the game was very controversial, as Roger Johnson appeared to play the ball, nobody at Villa cared as they looked back with fondness to the derby win.

That included Grealish, who responded on social media with a three-word put down to Blues; 'Shock another win'.

The academy graduate knows exactly what this fixture means to the fans and he was the one who decided the game the last time the sides met, with his goal at St. Andrew's giving Villa a 1-0 victory in a game that's best remembered for a Blues fan attacking the midfielder.

The verdict

It's no surprise to see Villa look back at what was a great day for them, as any victory over your rivals is always remembered.

As for Grealish, he will enjoy having a little dig at Blues given the history he has with them but these comments are clearly good-natured.

For Birmingham, they will hope they can have another crack at ending their dismal run against Villa next season, as their rivals are in serious danger of relegation which would bring two more intense derby games.
