Jack Grealish has described Aston Villa as the perfect place for him, despite speculation surrounding his future at Villa Park.

The fan favourite has been influential at Villa Park over the course of the 2017/18 campaign, helping Steve Bruce’s side secure a place in the Sky Bet Championship play-offs.

Villa will be going in search of promotion in the coming weeks, but reports from the Mirror earlier in the month linked Leicester City with a £20m move for Grealish if promotion wasn’t achieved.

Grealish has moved to somewhat quash those rumours, speaking to the Birmingham Mail about how Bruce and the playing squad around him are “perfect.”

The 22-year-old said: “I’ve got the perfect manager, the perfect staff and the perfect team to play with. Hopefully we can get promoted.”

Grealish has featured in 25 Championship fixtures so far this season, having missed the early part of the campaign through injury.

The midfielder has contributed three goals and five assists in claret and blue, with his performances post-Christmas key to helping Villa push on for a place in the play-offs.

Villa and Grealish will be looking to finish the regular season on a positive note in the coming weeks, with two fixtures remaining.

Bruce’s side welcome Derby County to Villa Park on Saturday afternoon, before heading to Millwall on the final day of the regular season.

The Verdict

Grealish is clearly happy at Villa Park, and rightly so, as right now, he is finally starting to show his potential.

The midfielder’s comments on Bruce and the playing squad indicate he is happy at Villa Park, which will ease fears he could be on the move in the summer.

The coming weeks are going to be huge for Grealish and Villa, with full focus needing to go on a promotion push.
