Leeds United attacker Izzy Brown has sent a message to his former teammate Lewis Baker, featuring a hilarious photo, as the midfielder celebrates his 24th birthday.
Posting on his Instagram story, he shared a photograph of his fellow Chelsea man dressed in flamboyant fancy dress, presumably from the club’s Christmas party.
Writing alongside the image, Brown said “happy birthday my brother” along with a love-heart and a crying laughter emoji.
The pair graduated through the Chelsea youth team together and have each been sent out on loan regularly over the last few seasons, with their paths crossing at Elland Road this season.
After an underwhelming opening few months, however, Baker was recalled by his parent club and sent back out on loan to Reading.
Brown, on the other hand, has struggled with injury throughout his time in Yorkshire, making just one appearance throughout the entire campaign.
You have got to admire Brown’s mental strength.
He has had what must be the most disappointing season of his career yet he is still happy to joke about and have a laugh which is remarkable really.
It shows the Leeds set-up in a very good light as well. They have had plenty of injury problems this season but the players have always managed to come back stronger. Brown is taking an awful lot longer than others, however.
