This summer saw Steve Bruce oversee his first transfer window as West Brom manager and therefore the boss was keen to add to his squad in the hope of creating a team that he can take towards the play-offs this season.

The Baggies have made a number of additions over summer, a number of which have been players that will look to help the attacking efforts of the side and push them up the pitch.

A standout addition to the side was Jed Wallace who arrived on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Millwall.

Wallace is a proven player at this level and contributed six goals and 12 assists to his side last season.

Therefore, it comes as no surprise that striker Daryl Dike was excited to link up with him this season.

Dike scored two goals in pre-season, both of which came from passes off his new teammate and he is full of praise for Wallace as he told The Sun: "I've never seen someone run as much as he does. He just runs, runs and runs. He's always pressing and doing everything. He also crosses the ball well and he's a good passer of the ball.

"Anything in front of me, it makes it very easy and he gets on the ball, is good with the pass and can score as well."

The Verdict:

Not only did Wallace put in a great performance during pre-season but he was also the player to provide the assist to John Swift's goal at the weekend as they opened the season with a 1-1 draw away at Middlesbrough.

Therefore, it already seems certain that the player will have an impact at the club.

Dike clearly enjoys playing with him and finds him a comfortable person to work alongside which should boost his contributions to the team.

The 22-year-old was unfortunate last year as he missed out on a lot of game time due to injury. However, now he is back in the side, he will be hoping to link up well with the new addition and prove why he is deserving of a place in the starting line up.
