Peterborough United striker Ivan Toney has taken to social media to reflect on the 2-0 win over Lincoln City at the weekend.

The 23-year-old striker scored his tenth goal of the season on Saturday, as the Posh moved up to third in the League One table with a hard-fought win over the Imps, thanks to two goals in the final ten minutes.

After a frustrating afternoon for the home side, Louis Reed finally broke the deadlock in the 82nd minute with a thunderous 20-yard strike, before Toney made the game safe with a sublime lob over the goalkeeper six minutes later.

Reed was then sent off for a second bookable offence, but Posh were able to survive nine minutes of injury time with ten men to hold on for all three points.

Toney has now taken to social media to reflect on the win and posted a photo of himself celebrating scoring the winner - where he used former striker Robbie Keane's trademark goal celebration - on his personal Instagram account.

Toney now has six goals in his last six matches for the Posh and is now the leading scorer in the top four divisions so far this season with ten goals.

The Verdict

Toney scored 23 goals for Peterborough last season and the striker has been excellent for the Posh so far this term. You get the feeling that he's going to be key to their chances of winning promotion from League One this season.

After missing out on the play-offs on the final day of last season, Peterborough have made an encouraging start to the season and are starting to build some momentum under Darren Ferguson.

Their poor home form proved costly last season, but they've now won four out of their six league matches at London Road this term and although it's still early on in the season, Posh fans will surely fancy their side's chances of finishing in the top six.
