Aston Villa currently occupy fifth spot in the Sky Bet Championship table after a relatively strong season thus far.

Manager Steve Bruce will be looking ahead to the January transfer window that is just around the corner, and one place that he may look is Chelsea.

With FFP regulations in place, funds are strict at Villa Park and he may have to look to secure loan moves and there are a handful of Chelsea players that could fit the bill.

Which ones?

We discuss...

George Dagless

Charly Musonda perhaps.

Josh Onomah could leave the club and so Musonda might be the ideal man to replace him.

He's got similar attributes and isn't getting a chance at Chelsea so it could work.

Chris Gallagher

Charly Musonda would be the obvious one, particularly if Josh Onomah is recalled.

Whether Chelsea would want to send the player to the second tier after he has played in La Liga is debatable, but it could bring his game on significantly.

It's worth a shot for Bruce anyway, he could rip up the Championship!

Adam Simeoni

I really like Ethan Ampadu.

The 17-year-old has regularly appeared in first-team squads this season since joining from Exeter City, but a loan spell in the Championship could be the fuel the youngster needs to challenge for a regular starting role.

Bruce would do well to secure the services of such an exciting young talent.

Alfie Burns

Of course, Aston Villa have the luxury of John Terry, who will be able to give Bruce an insight into what kind of talent Chelsea could offer this January.

However, there are doubts whether what Chelsea will have available will fit the criteria Villa are looking for in the New Year.

An audacious move for someone like Kenedy could suit the Villans, with the Brazilian potentially bringing some depth to the left-side of Villa’s squad, but that might be an unrealistic target.
