Even though they have enjoyed a solid start to the Championship season, Rovers manager Tony Mowbray may look to the loan market to bolster his ranks before the window closes on 31st August 2018.

Rovers have not been short of goals but with injuries and suspensions a real risk over the course of the season, now maybe the time for Rovers to dip their toe into the market and try and pick up some Premier League quality.

Crystal Palace winger Jason Puncheon could fit the bill, as the 32-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Selhurst Park.

So should Mowbray move for Puncheon?

We discuss.....

George Dagless

It's worth a look.

Puncheon still has plenty to offer the right club and Blackburn could certainly do with his adding attacking nous.

They've got some good players and Puncheon would help get the best out of them

Jay Williams

Puncheon would certainly add strength in depth to Tony Mowbray's attacking midfield options.

The veteran midfielder could compete with the likes of Kasey Palmer, Elliot Bennett and Bradley Dack for starting spots, which ultimately benefits Rovers.

With plenty of creativity and a wonderful left foot, Puncheon would be an asset for most Championship sides.

The 32-year-old has played a vast number of Premier League games and this sort of experience would also help Blackburn this season.

Gary Hutchinson

Not for me, no.

I like some of Blackburn’s offering going forward, the likes of Elliott Bennett are certainly no worse than Puncheon.

He could come in to add depth, but I’m not convinced he’d add strength.

They will need to bolster in some areas, but if I were a Rovers fan, I’d hope to see better than Puncheon.

Jay Taylor

Would it be worth it?

He would merely be a squad player for the Ewood Park side. They have a pretty solid side and seem to have enough this season to be alright, moreover, they have enough to tide them over until January at least.

It wouldn’t hurt adding the experience of Puncheon who would give Tony Mowbray another option in attack.

Would it be worth it? Sure, he has vast know-how of the division and would be a good option with the games set to come thick and fast.

Christian Fuller

Whilst the signing of Jason Puncheon could be a potentially strong addition to the Blackburn squad, I am uncertain if this would happen.

Puncheon, whilst unlikely to start for Crystal Palace this season, will feature off the bench throughout the season, which could be enough for the Englishman to remain happy at Selhurst Park, making the move not the right one for Blackburn Rovers.
