Speaking to LUTV, Leeds United goalkeeper, Rob Green, has described the atmosphere inside Elland Road as “up there with the best” he has played in throughout his long career.

Green arrived at Leeds last summer, and has impressed during his debut season in West Yorkshire, making 47 appearances across all competitions.

The 37-year old featured in every Sky Bet Championship fixture, as Leeds went within five-points of qualifying for the play-offs.

It was a special season in Leeds, which saw Elland Road sold out on a number of occasions, and Green paid tribute to the atmosphere created, he said: “I’ve played in a lot of big grounds and a lot of good atmospheres and it (Elland Road) is up there with the best of them.

“When all four stands get going, it is a really special atmosphere.”

Reflecting on what Leeds had achieved this season, Green continued: “This season we have rebuilt a connection between the fans and the players, and that is something that we’ve been really proud of.”

Green’s impressive form saw the goalkeeper earn a 12-month contract extension, which will keep the 37-year old at Elland Road until the end of the 2017/18 campaign.

The goalkeeper will be hoping to rediscover his form from this season and help Leeds build on the seventh-paced finish they achieved this year.
