Nottingham Forest summer signing Brice Samba has been hugely impressive in his debut season at the club and many Reds fans have been arguing that he is the best goalkeeper in the Championship.

The Frenchman joined from Ligue 1 side Caen in August and beat out some tough competition to claim the number one jersey.

Sabri Lamouchi already had Costel Pantilimon, Jordan Smith, and Manchester City loanee Aro Muric to choose from but Samba has established himself as the clear first-choice.

The 26-year-old has featured 33 times in the Championship this term and kept 12 clean sheets – the second-most in the division.

On a number of occasions, Samba's impressive displays have helped Forest secure victories or results in games that easily could've gone the other way.

Despite the occasional clanger, the Forest shot-stopper hasn't been shy of winding up the opposition supporters at times, which has only made him more popular with the City Ground faithful.

You'd imagine the Frenchman will have a key role to play in the Reds' promotion should the 2019/20 campaign resume.

Samba certainly seems to have proved his worth to his own fans, many of whom took to Twitter to argue that he is the best goalkeeper in the Championship.
