The takeover by a US consortium led by John Jay Moores is imminent at the City Ground meaning whether Montanier is manager or not, there could be funds to spend in the January transfer window after it is completed.

The Reds are currently in a transfer embargo after failing to submit paperwork to the Football League, but this is expected to end once the takeover is done.

There has been plenty of speculation over the future of Philippe Montanier in recent weeks with reports suggesting Gary Rowett could replace him, though whoever is in charge needs to sign some players to help push the club away from the relegation zone.

The East Midlands club sit in 20th position, two points away from the bottom three, and are in desperate need of some new faces and good news at the club to help push them up the table.

So, here are TWO deals that Nottingham Forest should look to complete this week....

Henri Lansbury

Keeping Henri Lansbury is a must for Nottingham Forest, if they have any chance of staying in the Championship this season.

Out of contract in the summer, the likes of Derby County, Aston Villa and Celtic are all believed to be chasing the talented Forest captain.

Without Henri Lansbury in their midfield, the Reds do not look good enough without their number 10 pulling the strings in the centre of the park.

Montanier, or whoever is in charge in the forthcoming weeks, must sign Henri Lansbury to a new deal.

Omar Bogle

The talented Grimsby Town striker is on the radar of a number of Championship clubs this January with Rotherham United the most recent club to have reportedly made a move for him.

Bogle has notched 18 goals for the Mariners so far this season, the most in League Two this season, and is easily one of the most feared strikers in the division at the moment.

A move for Bogle, a young and hungry striker, could be exactly what the Reds need to help fire them up the table and away from the bottom three.
