Leeds United have had an extremely good few weeks in the Championship and Garry Monk seems to have really turned his side's fortunes around.

The Whites endured a tricky start to the season and the manager was very much under pressure from the get-go.

But a positive string of results has really helped Leeds climb the table and now they are sitting in the top six ahead of the international break.

The bigger players in the squad are really starting to come together but there is always that concern that form could begin to slide once again.

And in particular, there are a few names in this Leeds United side that keep cropping up amongst supporters for negative reasons.

Monk has a decent squad to work with and the favourites are extremely clear indeed, whilst the deadwood is stacking up a little.

In January, he might look to shift some of this deadwood to create a more tight-knit squad or to free up some wages to bring in better players.

So with that in mind, here's 3 players Monk should axe in the very near future...

Kalvin Phillips

Leeds United youngster Kalvin Phillips is a player who really divides opinion amongst Leeds United fans and judging by his more recent performances, it's clear to see why.

With Liam Bridcutt sidelined with a metatarsal injury, responsibility has often fallen on the shoulders of the 20-year-old, who at times has struggled to keep up with the rest of the quality in the first team.

At times, he tends to give the ball away too cheaply and he's a player that screams out that more experience is needed.

Marcus Antonsson

Again, another player who seems to split opinion on the Elland Road terraces is Marcus Antonsson, who has been in and out of the side this season.

With Chris Wood very much the main man upfront this season and Doukara coming back into the side, opportunities for the man who has only scored three times this season could be limited.

It's a question of quality too.

These Leeds players are performing extremely well of late and is Antonsson really going to lead the side back into the Premier League?

Ross Turnbull

Brought in as goalkeeping back-up, Leeds have plenty of options between the sticks and Ross Turnbull just isn't needed.

The future looks bright for young Bailey Peacock-Farrell whilst the Whites also have Marco Silvestri and Rob Green as goalkeeping options in the first team.

Turnbull might not be the biggest earner or under performer but it seems slightly odd to have so much goalkeeping depth in one team and he might look to leave to further his own career.
