It’s been a disappointing campaign so far to say the least for Wolves, who sit down in 16th position in the table.
Following a busy summer of investment and an influx of foreign players, the risky appointment of manager Walter Zenga backfired, and now Paul Lambert is the man tasked with trying to get the club back up the table and closer to the top six.
In order to do so, Wolves will need to add some quality and experience to their ranks. While there is little doubting that some of the summer signings are talented footballers, a case can also be made against them for their lack of experience in the English game.
January represents a chance for Lambert to delve into the market and add the sort of characters he feels will be necessary for the second half of the season.
