Leeds United risk losing a trio of their prized assets after contract talks were put on the back-burner for Jack Clarke, Kemar Roofe and Kalvin Phillips, according to Football Insider.

The Whites opened negotiations with all the players agents earlier in the season, but with a question mark over where Marcelo Bielsa's side will be playing their football next season, they have decided to call a halt to discussions until the summer.

So are Leeds making a mistake in delaying contract talks with the trio until end of the season?

We discuss........

Jacob Potter

"I can understand it, but it is frustrating.

"You want the long-term future of your best players secured as soon as possible, so it’s a risky move.

"If Leeds don’t win promotion this season, then you fear that the trio could depart in the summer.

Gary Hutchinson

“Possibly.

“The thing is the players aren’t just going to walk away from Leeds.

“They’re going to listen to any offer, so knowing what division they’re in is important.

“It’s not a surprise to me.”

Alfie Burns

“It’s the right call – they’ve got enough to be focusing on, they don’t need any distractions.

“Say that trio were dealing with the promotion push and talks with the club, where would their heads be at?

“Leeds are doing what any sensible club would do.”
