With only a few days of the summer transfer window remaining, Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa is still looking to add to his squad, despite an impressive opening day victory over Bristol City at the weekend.

The Whites are keen on 21-year-old Tottenham Hotspur defender Cameron Carter-Vickers, who is available on loan again, having spent spells out on-loan at Sheffield United, Ipswich Town and Swansea City over the last two seasons, as reported on TEAMtalk.

So would Carter-Vickers be a good signing for Leeds United?

We discuss

George Harbey

“I think that Leeds definitely need to add a commanding, experienced defender to their ranks before deadline day, so Carter-Vickers could be an interesting addition for the Whites.

“As impressive as Ben White and Liam Cooper were alongside each other against Bristol City at the weekend, they cannot go through the season with only Gaetano Berardi as their back-up.”

“Carter-Vickers may still be relatively young, but he knows what the league is all about, and he would add real competition to the Whites’ back-line.

“He’s strong, quick and powerful and on a loan deal, it’s surely worth a punt.”

Alfie Burns

“I could see Carter-Vickers being a really solid addition to the Leeds United squad for the coming season.

“Ben White and Liam Cooper looked superb on the opening day of the season, but they are Leeds’ only real option at the moment, and it would be naïve to think the Whites didn’t need another body.

“Carter-Vickers might not be a starter, but he’d give the squad another body, who has built up experience elsewhere in the Championship in the last two years.

“During that time he’s played in different systems at Sheffield United and Swansea City, which will suit Leeds down to the ground.

“You’d seriously consider this if you were the Leeds hierarchy.”

Gary Hutchinson

“Yes, this is just the right sort of player Leeds should be targeting.

“He’s got Championship experience, his time at Swansea was certainly a success and he wouldn’t have to adjust to the pace or demands of the game in the second tier.

“He’s also got international experience with the United States as well, giving him a glimpse of ‘the next level’. He has to be hungry to step up, whether to force a place at Spurs or a permanent move to another Premier League club.

“I like the look of this deal for Leeds; he’s just what they need as well.”
