With the influx of players attached to Jorge Mendes' agency Gestifute, Nottingham Forest are bound to be drawing comparisons with last season's Championship winners, Wolves.

Karanka has made a significant double digit signing from Portugal, just like Wolves. He's bagged a big name player on loan too, just like Wolves. I'm sure come May if he's achieved what they did, he'd be a happy man.

Are the comparisons justified though? Are Forest becoming a Wolves 2.0, or is that a misconception because of a similar transfer policy?

The FLW boys discuss the situation.....

It's way, way too early to be drawing comparisons with Wolves.

There is no denying that Forest are emulating Wolves somewhat with the influx of Portuguese talent, and influence of Jorge Mendes.

But you have to remember, it took Wolves two seasons to fully get motoring in the Championship.

Louie Chandler

It's still too early to tell but they are heading in that direction. If they are to become Wolves 2.0 it's important that they spend large amounts wisely rather than buying everyone they can.

Wolves spent a lot but they put together a really strong team who were capable of playing brilliant football. That is how Forest will become this season's Wolves.

Adam Willmott

Forest haven't quite matched Wolves in terms of Summer spending yet, but the high profile names they have brought in certainly echoes the goings on at Molinuex last season.

Jay Williams

If Jorge Mendes has his way and delivers more quality signings to the City Ground, then why not?

With Carvalho, Dias, Goncalves and Figueiredo, there is a growing Portuguese contingent and Wolves showed that this blueprint can breed success.

In Karanka, they have a good manager with experience of promotion and their early summer business does put them up there among the favourites for the title
