Portsmouth manager Kenny Jackett will be working hard this summer to prepare a squad capable of achieving promotion from League One next season.

Jackett though may have to do without star winger Jamal Lowe, as Wigan Athletic and Millwall look to seal deal for the 24-year-old, as reported in the Portsmouth News.

Lowe scored 15 league goals, and recorded eight assists in what was a fantastic year for him at the south coast club.

So with his superb season in mind, is it a surprise that more clubs are not pushing hard to sign Lowe from Portsmouth?

We discuss........

Kealan Hughes

"I'm sure more clubs will attempt to sign him over the coming days/weeks.

"He has reportedly attracted a lot of attention already and he could be picked up at a bargain price as he only has 12 months left on his contract.

"However Portsmouth could play hard ball and stick it out this summer. Lowe is vital to their promotion chances so they could demand a large fee."

Gary Hutchinson

“I am, but it’s still early days.

“Wigan are being mentioned, but I’m sure there are others looking on with interest.

“I doubt he’ll sign for the Latics. This story has perhaps been leaked to try to force a few clubs into coming forward.

“This might seem a bit harsh, but he’s better than Wigan and if they go up, Portsmouth are bigger than Wigan.”

George Brooks

"Lowe enjoyed a brilliant season for Pompey and was one of the standout players in League One.

"I’m surprised that more Championship teams have not shown an interest in signing him, as he certainly looks like he could handle the step up to the second tier.

"I'm sure Portsmouth will want to keep hold of one of their key players, but he could be tempted by a move to the Championship, after Pompey missed out on promotion last season."
