Leeds United summer signing striker Patrick Bamford is still not ready for a first-team comeback, with manager Marcelo Bielsa stating that the player needs more time.

The 25-year-old has only managed six appearances so far this season and the delay in returning to fitness will be hard for fans to take, considering the substantial fee paid for the player in the summer.

So does the hefty price-tag paid for Bamford by Leeds look silly now?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

“No, it looks as though he’s been unlucky.

“He was worth the money, but who could predict the injury?

“Medicals are intensive and thorough, this is just horrible luck.

“He’ll come good.”

Louie Chandler

"Not at all.

"It was a lot of money, but Bamford has shown when he has played that he is a top Championship striker.

"It would only look foolish if had not contributed at all."

Jay Taylor

“It’s starting to be a burden, considering he was brought in to rival Kemar Roofe.

“Bamford has spent more time in the treatment room than he has done on the pitch and his medical bills could soon usurp his transfer fee!

“If the injuries carry on and game time remains at a premium, then the fee and the signing overall will be deemed a failure, and the team could well pass him by, and he could be on his way out of Elland Road no sooner than he had signed.”
