January is shaping up into a big month for Leeds United, with the New Year offering Marcelo Bielsa an opportunity to bolster the thin squad he has assembled at Elland Road.

Leeds have been reportedly monitoring Jeremain Lens at Besiktas with a view to a January move, with the former Sunderland man seemingly on Victor Orta’s radar.

It’s a transfer that Leeds should be approaching with caution, though, with the 31-year-old’s spell at Sunderland a bit of a worry as he fell out of favour under a number of managers.

So, should he arrive at Elland Road would it disrupt what Bielsa has put together at Elland Road?

We discuss…

George Harbey

I think he’s turned a corner at Besiktas to be honest.

Yes, he was a bit of a livewire at Sunderland, but he’s matured as a player and is performing at a good level.

He’d be a shrewd addition for Leeds.

Alfie Burns

This would be a high-profile addition and, as they always do, it brings some risk.

Bielsa’s squad are all pulling in the same direction and there’s a real positive atmosphere at Elland Road, which Lens could potentially disrupt.

It’s something for Bielsa to consider.

Chris Gallagher

It’s a risk.

Bielsa has got everyone pulling in the same direction now and the team work hard and have togetherness.

Lens would have to fit in to that straight away and his history suggests he might not, so it would be a concern if he joined.
