West Brom are set to make a major managerial announcement in their quest to find Darren Moore's successor.

Reputable journalist, Mike McGrath revealed that the Baggies are set to place Jimmy Shan in temporary charge of the first-team for their games against Swansea and Brentford.

Darren Moore was relieved of his duties after his side were held at home to relegation-threatened, Ipswich town in a 1-1 draw at the weekend.

He leaves the Baggies in the play-off places, and his successor will have to waste no time in picking up positive results ahead of a crucial period in their season.

Many supporters have questioned the decision to sack Moore at such an important stage of this year's league campaign and West Brom can't be making any mistakes in appointing his future successor.

But is appointing Shan as caretaker boss a wise move by the Baggies?

We discuss....

Chris Gallagher:

"It's ridiculous.

"Shan might be a great coach, but to sack Darren Moore without having a replacement lined up is embarrassing.

"At a crucial stage in the season, they should not be in this situation. It's a mess."

Jay Taylor:

"The 'good move' so to speak would have been keeping Darren Moore in charge.

"But, alas, he is no longer there.

"I don't see the harm in it as it's two games before a new man comes in.

"Standard procedure after sacking a manager in my view."

Jacob Potter:

"What an odd decision this is.

"There was no point in sacking Darren Moore as early as they did if they are just going to appoint a caretaker manager who certainly isn’t an upgrade on Moore.

"This decision will cost them valuable points in the promotion race."
