Martin O'Neill has endured a tough start since taking over as Nottingham Forest manager, losing two of his three games in charge.

As well as that, he has made a few questionable selection calls that have got fans talking.

One has been his decision to bench top scorer Lewis Grabban for the past two games, with experienced Irishman Daryl Murphy preferred.

So, we centred our latest six pointer on Grabban, with FLW writer Chris Gallagher answering six questions about his role under O'Neill...

1. First of all, what have you made of O’Neill’s decision to start Murphy?

"It's quite baffling really.

"Murphy has been a good player at this level over the years, but he is 35 now and has managed just three goals this season and seven the year before.

"He's a player that should be used as an impact sub off the bench - at best."

2. Is Grabban a player that suits O’Neill’s style of play?

"I thought he would've been.

"You could perhaps argue that he needs to work a bit more off the ball, but he is still has a presence up top.

"More importantly, he knows where the goal is and surely O'Neill wants players who can do that!"

3. What do you think is going through Grabban’s head right now?

"He will be extremely frustrated.

"Anyone who saw the Sunderland documentary on Netflix will have had an insight into the striker and it's fair to say he wants to be playing all the time.

"He will certainly feel he deserves a starting place, so I can't imagine he is enjoying the current situation."

4. Can you see O’Neill switching things up this weekend in attack?

"He has to because they were pretty toothless against Birmingham.

"However, Leo Bonatini's arrival gives O'Neill another option and he will find it tough to keep everyone happy.

"The ex-Celtic boss could turn to Joao Carvalho this weekend and his inclusion would almost certainly mean there's only one striker starting up top."

5. Does Grabban have a future at the City Ground under O’Neill if things don’t change?

"No, I don't think he does.

"Grabban is a proven striker at this level and at 31 he will want to be playing week in, week out.

"If that's not happening at the City Ground, there will be plenty of takers and Grabban will be off."

6. Finally, if it were down to you, would you be starting Grabban?

"Without a doubt.

"This is a player that was the second top scorer in the league last season with 20, and he had already hit 14 by December in this campaign.

"He guarantees goals and whilst there are other aspects of his game that need improving, if you have a proven goalscorer at this level then he has to start."
