Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa may have to re-consider how he uses loanee Izzy Brown, after journalist Phil Hay confirmed on Twitter that the club are now paying the 22-year-old's wages, now he is fit and in contention for the first team squad.

Brown arrived at Elland Road in the summer with an existing ACL injury, so it was agreed that his parent club Chelsea would pick up his wages, until such time as he was available for selection as reported in the YEP.

So is it a concern that Leeds are now picking up Brown's wages?

We discuss.....

Louie Chandler

"No.

"They would have known that this was coming. Yes, they would have hoped Brown would have had a greater impact but they will have planned for it.

"Off the pitch issues need to be pushed to the back of the Leeds conscience."

Jacob Potter

"It has to be a worry.

"Brown has had a whole host of injury problems this season, and Leeds need him to stay clear of the treatment room.

"One more injury to him could make him one of the most pointless signings the club has seen for a number of years."

Gary Hutchinson

“No.

“They should have been paying his wages for longer shouldn’t they?

“They’ve had him long enough. He’s been fit for a couple of weeks now.

“He’s not playing through choice, not injury.”

Alfie Burns

“It’s only a concern if Bielsa continues to overlook him.

“Leeds need Brown now and it should be time for him to come into the fold.

“His wages will be irrelevant if he’s back in the side.”

Jay Taylor

“Not really – is that now how football works?

“Fair enough Chelsea might have paid a little or all of Brown’s wages, but it could well have been in the agreement for games played etc. as to why Leeds are now paying them in full.

“They would have known the conditions of the loan, and surely they have the money to do so, or he would not have been signed.

“To say Leeds should be concerned is a little naive.”
