Things are not looking good for Sheffield Wednesday in the Sky Bet Championship, with the pressure seemingly starting to get to Carlos Carvalhal at Hillsborough following three consecutive draws.

Carvalhal has come in for criticism for large parts of the season so far, but in recent weeks that criticism has intensified, with the pressure clearly beginning to show.

In a bid to turn things around in the Championship last week, Carvalhal opted to drop top goalscorer, Gary Hooper, opting for a strike partnership of Steven Fletcher and Lucas Joao, as the Owls trudged to a 0-0 draw with Reading.

Carvalhal’s decision to drop Hooper certainly raised eyebrows, but was it a sign of desperation?

We take a look…

It wasn't exactly inspiring was it?

Fair enough, he dropped Rhodes and Hooper who were out of form but Fletcher and Joao have hardly warranted selection themselves.

For all Wednesday's strikers, none of them are in great form and I think he should just stick with Rhodes and Hooper as they look the most likely.

Carvalhal must be tearing his hair out at these insipid displays.

It was a slightly baffling decision.

The manager has tried something different and it hasn't worked, so he will to back to what he knows in their next fixture.

He is under a lot of pressure, and perhaps it is beginning to show.

Without a doubt and it's so poor that he doesn't yet know his best team.

The Fletcher/Joao partnership proved that. How can we be nearly at the halfway mark and he's hoping he'll get lucky in such a key position?

It's not good enough that Wednesday are in this position where he's guessing and messing about with his team.

Fans will justifiably be angry and the confidence of the players will be extremely low.
