Brentford are having a difficult start to the season and are currently on a run of only one win in five that has left Thomas Frank's side down in 17th spot in the Championship, 10 points off current leaders West Brom, heading into the international break.

Frank's task at Griffin Park will not be helped by reports in The Sun, that claim Sheffield United are prepared to make a move for 23-year-old Bees striker Ollie Watkins, who has been in great form so far this season with seven goals in 11 league appearances.

So would Watkins be a good signing for the Blades? Is he good enough for the Premier League?

We discuss........

Chris Thorpe

"Watkins would certainly represent a good bit of business for the Blades, as he is one of the Championship's most inform players at the moment.

"It would be interesting to see how he would adapt to playing in the first division.

"Also Sheffield United possess a lot more competition for places up front than what is currently available at Brentford, meaning that Watkins would have to perform well consistently to hold down a starting place.

"Lastly, he would also have to adapt to Chris Wilder's relatively unique style of play, which is easier said than done."

Josh Cole

“This could turn out to be an incredibly shrewd signing by Chris Wilder if he can complete a deal in January for Watkins.

“Unquestionably one of the most talented players in the Championship, the forward has illustrated over the past two years that when at his best, he is almost unplayable at this level.

“Whilst the Premier League will be a step up for Watkins, if he can replicate the performance levels which has seen him fire in seven goals for Brentford this season in a Sheffield United shirt, he could become a pivotal player at Brammall Lane.

“Capable of playing as a winger as well as a central striker, the former Exeter man would also offer the Blades a great deal of versatility which could come in handy during the second half of the 2019/20 campaign.”

Louie Chandler

"Watkins is an immensely talented player so it's no surprise to see him valued so highly.

"Wilder has shown that he is keen to bring in players who have proven themselves in the Championship, as he did with Oli McBurnie.

"But given how slowly the former Swansea man has adapted to the top-flight, the Blades may be better off bringing in a more proven front-man.

"As I say, Watkins would be a great signing but for the long-term. I would say if they want to bolster their attack for a survival bid a more experienced marksman would be best."
