It's safe to say that Middlesbrough haven't started this year's league campaign as they would have hoped to under Jonathan Woodgate's management.

Boro are struggling for form heading into the international break, with Woodgate's men slipping into a relegation fight almost a quarter of the way into the season.

In our latest FLW Six Pointer, we look into Boro's poor start in more detail.

How bad has their start been this season?

"The league table speaks for itself.

"Middlesbrough are currently sat 20th in the Championship table, and it simply isn't good enough for everyone associated with the club.

"They'll know that, and if results don't improve in the near future, then Jonathan Woodgate could be facing questions about his future, if he isn't already.

"Boro have only won twice in their opening eleven league games and are without a win in their last four league games which will be a real concern heading into the international break."

What was the pre-season expectation for Middlesbrough?

"A top-six finish would have been the minimum expectation for Jonathan Woodgate when he took charge at The Riverside.

"Middlesbrough narrowly missed out on a play-off spot last season, and with a number of their key players remaining with the club, there was no reason to see why they couldn't force their way into the top-six this term.

"So for Woodgate's side to be in and around a relegation battle, will be a real concern for the club's supporters who have already voiced their frustrations in recent weeks as they continue to slide down the table."

Which players aren't performing to the standard required?

"Britt Assombalonga has been the main issue in the Middlesbrough squad this season.

"Boro were heavily reliant on the striker last season, and he lived up to that pressure, netting 14 goals in total as they finished 7th in the Championship.

"He started this year's campaign strongly, but hasn't found the back of the net since their draw with Bristol City in late August.

"Assombalonga needs to step up at the earliest of opportunities, otherwise Middlesbrough are going to struggle to stay afloat in the league this season."

Is there a sense of pressure on Woodgate now?

"Absolutely, that comes with a poor run of results.

"I had my doubts as to whether Woodgate was the right fit for Middlesbrough after they missed out on a top-six finish in the Championship last season.

"The club's supporters will have been keen to see one of their former men do well in charge, but the results speak for themselves.

"There is quality in this Middlesbrough side but for one reason or another, Woodgate simply isn't finding it at the moment, and time will be ticking on his future at The Riverside."

Are there any players that can come out with any credit so far this season?

"Darren Randolph can certainly hold his head high after recent performances.

"Without the Irishman, Middlesbrough would be in the relegation zone, as he has saved them from conceding more goals each week, with a frail-looking defence in front of him this season.

"If the rest of the team can do their jobs, then Randolph should be relatively quiet in terms of what he has to do during a game as this Middlesbrough side have got players with real quality if they're at their best."

Can you see Middlesbrough turning around this poor run of form?

"It's looking bleak.

"Middlesbrough really impressed me last season, and I would have though they would have been one of the favourites to win promotion to the Premier League this term.

"But Woodgate and his players aren't doing very well at all, and I find it hard to believe that the former England defender is the right manager to turn their poor run of form around.

"If they continue with him, then they'll only slide further down the table as the season progresses."
