Wolverhampton Wanderers may have beaten Birmingham City yesterday and won the league this weekend but there was still some disappointment last night.

Wolves star Ruben Neves missed out on the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Year award as Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon scooped the top award instead.

Neves was nominated for the Player of the Year accolade alongside Fulham duo Sessegnon and Tom Cairney and many Wolves fans expected him to win the top prize after an exceptional season in gold and black.

The 21-year-old has taken to Championship football with ease after his summer switch and his performances in central midfield have helped fire Wolves to promotion to the Premier League.

But Wolves fans were shocked and disappointed to see him miss out with 17-year-old Sessegnon instead claiming his fifth award of the evening.

Here are a selection of the best tweets from Wolves fans after hearing that Neves had not won the Player of the Year award.
