There have been quick developments across Yorkshire over the 48 hours, with the managerial merry-go-round in the Sky Bet Championship in full swing.

Leeds United sacked Thomas Christiansen on Sunday evening following a crushing 4-1 defeat to Cardiff City, before identifying Paul Heckingbottom of Barnsley as the man they wanted to succeed the Dane at Elland Road.

The Whites have this morning announced the arrival of Heckingbottom at Elland Road, with the 40-year-old agreeing an 18-month contract with Leeds.

Barnsley themselves have moved to make a statement on Heckingbottom’s departure, with the Tykes expressing their disappointment, particularly after Heckingbottom had agreed a new deal at Barnsley just last week.

The statement from Barnsley also confirms that a number of Heckingbottom’s backroom staff, including Jamie Clapham, have also left Oakwell today.

As expected, Barnsley’s supporters have been quick to react to the news this morning.

Here is the best of that reaction…
