With the January transfer window fast approaching, clubs up and down the country will be starting to earmark players they may launch a move for in the New Year.

One player who could be on the radar of several clubs is Bournemouth attacking midfielder David Brooks.

The 23-year-old was courted by an array of top-flight teams over the summer, with Man United and Sheffield United among those heavily credited with an interest in the Welshman.

Brooks has started the 2020/21 season in excellent fashion, scoring three goals and recording two assists in what has been a strong start to the season for Jason Tindall's Bournemouth in the Championship.

So, with this in all in mind, do you envisage there being any serious January interest in Brooks?

The team here at FLW offer up their thoughts.....

Phil Spencer

There's no doubt that Bournemouth will be fielding some calls for David Brooks.

The Cherries have one of the most talented young prospects in the Championship and that has been shown in the opening weeks of the season.

Given the amount of interest that there was in the summer, it's hard to see that not being there in January.

A move will likely depend on finances.

Bournemouth won't want to lose their star man on the cheap, particularly if they have genuine aspirations of returning to the top flight next term.

It will certainly be an interesting one to keep an eye on, but I'll be very surprised if Brooks doesn't gather some interest in the New Year.

I imagine that there will be quite a lot of speculation surrounding the forward.

He’s in fine form at the moment for Bournemouth and with his assist tally creeping up heading into December, clubs will be making a note of how well he’s playing.

The problem you’ve got is that Bournemouth have such a high valuation of Brooks.

That’s only fair given his talent and importance to the Cherries, but are clubs going to be willing to be £40m for him in the winter window in the current climate?

I can’t imagine they will. Only a select few can afford that and I’m not sure they will be fishing in the Championship.

George Harbey

There's got to be.

If I'm honest, I didn't think Brooks was ready for a move to such a big club like Man United in the summer. He hadn't really done a lot to impress in the Premier League, and he still needs to improve if he is to play for United in the future.

But we have seen just how important Brooks is to Bournemouth in the early stages of this season, especially against Nottingham Forest, where he ran Yuri Ribeiro ragged and caused several problems throughout the contest.

He's scored two goals and added three assists in just seven league appearances this season, which is a tremendous record for a young player. If he keeps on playing regularly, which he is bound to do if he stays fit, then you'd back him to reach double figures in both goals and assists this term.

It's inevitable that there'll be interest in January, in my opinion.
