Aston Villa manager Dean Smith will be assessing his squad during the transfer window, as he looks to assemble a squad he believes can make an assault on promotion back to the Premier League.

Players like 20-year-old Callum O'Hare, are yet to feature under Smith, having been given limited chances since his arrival at Villa Park in 2016.

So does O'Hare have a long-term future at Villa?

We discuss.....

George Dagless

"It's hard to tell.

"He's got talent but it seems as though he isn't quite there yet.

"He needs a loan away and how he does on that could define whether or not he has a Villa career."

Gary Hutchinson

“He’s 20 and has barely played, it’s impossible to say.

“What he needs is regular football a level lower than he’s currently at.

“Villa can ascertain his impact in the senior game from there.

“He’s just exciting potential right now, that can go either way.”

Jay Taylor

“The 20-year-old shouldn’t be written off just yet.

“A loan move away will give the forward a chance to get a run of consecutive games under his belt and develop.

“That is what this loan is about, to develop and progress ahead of a move back to Villa Park in the summer.

“I certainly see him having a future at Aston Villa under Dean Smith.”
