Football League World's Derby County fan pundit Andy Buckley-Taylor has responded with scepticism to reports linking John Terry with the manager's position at Pride Park if Frank Lampard's move to Chelsea goes through.

It was reported by the Daily Mail that the current Aston Villa boss was being considered for the roll as Lampard prepares for talks with his former club.

But Buckley-Taylor is unsure over the quality of the potential appointment.

"It's impossible to say," the regular punter told Football League World.

"He will be in the same position as Frank Lampard was last year and that's one of complete rookie when it comes to management.

"I'm not sure that he can bring anything different. Like Lampard he has spent most of his career at Chelsea and will have similar contacts."

Lampard became a huge hit at Derby in his first season of management, bringing in an exciting crop of young players and presenting expansive attacking football to the watching fans.

It resulted in the club reaching the final of the the Championship play-offs, following a dramatic win against Leeds United in the semi-finals, but Terry's current employers Villa proved too tough for them to crack.

He would be a tough personality to replace for the Rams, but Buckley-Taylor has a fairly good idea of the type of manager Mel Morris and co should be targeting.

"I'm not entirely sure who I'd like to see take over," he said.

"Preferably someone with a proven track record at this level.

"I wouldn't turn my nose up at Chris Hughton, but ideally one who would make the most of the youth talent at the club. Garry Monk could be a decent shout too."
