Middlesbrough had an incredibly busy January transfer window.

The Teessiders brought in five new arrivals in the shape of Patrick Roberts, Lukas Nmecha, Dejan Stojanovic, Harold Moukoudi and Ravel Morrison.

In addition they lost Darren Randolph to West Ham United while also sending a number of players out on loan.

However there could be even more players heading out of the club in the summer.

Middlesbrough have several players who have expiring contracts at the end of the season, and with no deal agreed it's set the club up for an uncertain few months.

Jonny Howson, Daniel Ayala, Rudy Gestede, George Friend, Ryan Shotton, Adam Clayton and Marvin Johnson are among those with expiring deals, and as of yet it remains to be seen who will stay and who will go.

The debate over who should be kept has been rumbling on for months among supporters with many unable to agree on who should be retained.

But what do supporters think?

We asked the question to the Unofficial Middlesbrough Football Club fans' group on Facebook to see what they thought.

Here's what some people had to say.

Phil Batch: “Howson, Ayala.”

Matthew Thomas: “Pears, Ayala, Howson.”

Terry Carter: “Howson and Ayala. It’s imperative that we keep both.”

Peter Cope: “Ayala and Howson. Also get Pears on a long-term deal.”

Barry Sinclair: “Ayala before anyone.”

Darren Walker: “Howson without a doubt.”

Can you remember these former Middlesbrough strikers? Let's find out!

Dave Hill: “Ayala because him and Moukoudi will be awesome in defence.”

Steve Bennett: “Ayala, Howson, Pears.”

Scott Gamesby: “Ayala, Howson and any young ones. We’re that thin at the minute I’d possibly give Friend a year.”
