Garry Monk's preparation for the Second City derby has received a huge boost after it was reported in the Birmingham Mail that Jacques Maghoma and Jota should be available having recovered from their respective injuries.

The return of the duo should give Monk a fairly strong squad as he looks to get back to winning ways following the 3-3 draw with Hull City last time out.

So is the return of Maghoma and Jota good news for the Blues?

We discuss.....

Louie Chandler

Definitely.

As good as the Blues' striking department have been they still rely on creativity from midfield.

If they have this then it will significantly improve their chances against their arch-rivals.

It’s immeasurable how much of a boost the duo returning could be.

Jacques Maghoma has been out longer and his absence has been felt more but with Jota hoping to be passed fit after a hip injury, it could be a double boost for Garry Monk.

If both are available, it would increase Birmingham’s chances of winning Sunday’s fixture.

If, however, both are not rushed back and left out, I think that could be a decision that is detrimental to the Blues’ hopes of triumphing over their fierce rivals.

It’s huge news for Birmingham.

Jota and Maghoma are their most creative players, and the absence of the duo would have a huge impact on their performance.

Blues fans will be praying that they are fit.
