It's been a tough few weeks in the Sky Bet Championship for Garry Monk and his Sheffield Wednesday side.

The Owls head into tonight's match against Bournemouth on the back of four consecutive league defeats, and are still situated rock bottom of the table and still with a minus points deficit.

Naturally, pressure is growing ten-fold on Monk at the club as he aims to secure survival at the very least for the Yorkshire side this season, however it remains to be seen just how long Chansiri will afford Monk to do this as results continue to disappoint.

So, with this in mind, would you class the Owls' match v Bournemouth tonight as a 'must win' for Garry Monk and his future at the club?

Absolutely.

I personally thought the Wycombe one was must win and that he'd go if they lost that game so I am a bit surprised to see that he is still in the job at the moment.

The board obviously believes in him for a little longer, then, but he is on thin ice and he will know that all too well.

Wednesday need to bounce back and win this game without doubt, but Bournemouth are going to be tough and it is hard to see them getting a victory.

It's the Championship, though, and anything can happen.

I think it has to be a game that Monk simply must get all three points from if he is to have a future at Hillsborough.

It is worth remembering that this poor run of form Wednesday are on really stretches back to the start of this calendar year, and there are plenty of managers who have lost their jobs for less than that, so the pressure must be on for Monk.

Indeed, the points deduction they were handed at the start of the campaign means they were always playing catch up to the rest of the division this season, so they may have to move quicker than other clubs down the wrong end of the table if they are to avoid relegation, and that surely does not bode well for Monk.

With that in mind, you feel Bournemouth - with the only remaining unbeaten record in the Championship this season - might be just about the last side Monk would have wanted to play at this moment in time.

It’s hard not to think that to be honest.

If I’m being honest, I thought he was going to be sacked after the Wycombe game, as it was a disastrous performance.

They gave Wycombe too much respect, and ultimately, they allows their relegation rivals to record their first win of the season and their first ever win in the Championship.

I’m a huge advocate of giving managers time and allowing them to get a large amount of time to work with their players, but it clearly isn’t working for the Owls and a change may be needed.

If they keep on losing games, then that gap is only going to get bigger and their chances of survival will diminish.
