Bolton Wanderers take their next step in their quest to initially register a positive points tally and secondly move away from the base of League One, where they currently languish in 23rd spot, when they make the trip to fellow struggler's Portsmouth on Saturday afternoon.

Trotters manager Keith Hill has had some positive news though, confirming that two of his players Daryl Murphy and Chris O'Grady are close to a return as reported via Bolton news reporter Mark Iles.

So how big a boost will the return of Murphy and O'Grady be to Bolton?

We discuss........

George Brooks

"This is a major boost for Bolton. Murphy and O'Grady are both very experienced strikers and they should be able to make an impact at this level.

"It's going to be extremely difficult for Bolton to avoid relegation this season, but their performances over the past couple of the games have shown signs of improvement.

"The sooner Murphy and O'Grady can get themselves fit and firing, the better.

"The duo wouldn't have signed for Bolton unless they felt they could help the team avoid relegation and if the team can somehow pull it off, Murphy and O'Grady will no-doubt have a big role to play."

Toby Wilding

"It's great news.

"Keith Hill's side are starting to look like a more well organised and efficient unit after a few weeks together, although they are clearly lacking someone to really finish the chances they are creating.

"Bringing two attackers in Murphy and O'Grady into the fold at Bolton, would surely help them to address that issue, and potentially allow them to start picking up the goals they need to slowly work their way up the league.

"With Thibaud Verlinden showing his ability to create chances from out wide for Bolton, it certainly seems as though there will be plenty of chances for Murphy and O'Grady to live off when they do eventually make their way into the starting XI."

Ben Lang

"This is a big boost for Wanderers, particularly after it was first thought they would be out for a much longer time-frame.

"Bolton would even benefit from having them back in and around the first-team squad on the weekend, as it at least shows the players are making strong fitness progress.

"The Trotters have been lacking a goalscorer so far this season and both are players who could cause some real problems for defences.

"I'm sure the club's fans will be particularly excited to see Murphy in action following his move from the Championship, as his presence should give this side a considerable boost."
