Leeds United youngster Clarke Odour has penned a new deal at the club that will keep the striker at Elland Road until 2020, it has been confirmed on the club website.

The 19-year-old has played a major part in  the U23's rise to the top of the Professional Development League North, while also making his first team debut in the FA Cup against QPR this season.

Odour took to Twitter to express his delight at signing a new deal at Elland Road, a move that shows Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa very much has an eye on the future.

So is Odour signing a new deal, good news for Leeds?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

“On the face of it, not exciting, but who knows?

“The Under 23 side have shown their worth this season and players who slipped under the radar before, like Aapo Halme, have done well.

“This could be great business, but we’ll only know if a year or two.”

Jacob Potter

"He’s one to watch for the future.

"Odour has been impressive for the Leeds under 23’s and I firmly believe that he could force his way into the first-team picture in the near future.

"He’ll have to remain patient for now though."

George Harbey

"It’s good news for the team.

"Odour has been an impressive figure in the academy and definitely has a lot of potential.

"He could definitely follow in the footsteps of Jack Clarke."

Jay Taylor

“Good news for the club to secure the future of a promising player.

“Bielsa had had time to look at the young players and has been able to assess him.

“He could well have a bright future at the club and tying him down to a new deal could be a masterstroke by the club to do so.”
