Reading slumped to another huge defeat at the weekend when they went down 4-0 to high-flying Sheffield United, a result that leaves the Royals hovering just above the relegation places on goal difference, ahead of a massive six-pointer against fellow strugglers Rotherham next weekend.

Jose Gomes took over from the sacked Paul Clement back in December and despite having a transfer window to stamp his own mark on his squad, has been unable to put a run of results together, that have allowed the Royals to pull away from the relegation zone.

So do Reading have any chance of avoiding the drop? Can you see them staying up?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

“I can.

“When you’re at the bottom, you don’t win every game.

“That was always going to be tough, but there’s other teams doing their best to get involved in the relegation battle too.

“I think it’ll be tight.”

Jacob Potter

"Their next three games are crucial.

"With games against Rotherham, Ipswich and Wigan, we’re at a make or break point in the season for the Royals.

"If they win those games, they’ll be safe in my opinion."

George Harbey

"It’s going to be so tough for them.

"It was always going to be hard for them to get something out of the Sheffield United game, but to lose 4-0 against a weakened team speaks volumes.

"The Rotherham game is going to be huge."

Jay Taylor

“Two steps forward, one step back for Reading.

“They got too carried away with their win, and look what happened.

“If they play like that again, then relegation could be a certainty.

“I believe they it’s still too close to call, with plenty of twists and turns still to come.”
