According to the Sun on Sunday (May 13th p63,) Everton are looking into a deal for Leeds United defender Tom Pearce.

The young full-back started to feature for the Whites' first team towards the end of this season just finished and applied himself very well indeed.

Would it be worth Everton looking to bring him in this summer, then? Our writers at FLW discuss...

Jay Williams

I am not sure why Everton let Pearce go in the first place but it makes sense that they are trying to get him back.

Leighton Baines is coming towards the end of his career and Pearce is a much more promising long-term replacement than Brendan Galloway and Luke Garbutt.

Leeds must do all they can to keep the youngster at the club after he showed just what he can do with a run in the first-team towards the end of the season.

Alfie Burns

From what we’ve seen of Pearce at Leeds, he’s going to be a top talent.

Everton could do far worse than securing the left-back’s service this summer, although a move might be difficult, with no first-team guarantees at Goodison.

The Toffees would have to offer Pearce a real chance of first-team progression.

Ben Barkworth

Pearce is a promising long-term prospect, so this move would make sense if they intend to sign him and send him back out on loan rather than bringing him into the first-team straight away.

He is a while away from being Premier League quality but it's definitely worth Everton landing him.
