The January window is fast approaching and December provides Carlos Carvalhal with one last chance of running the rule over his peripheral players to decide their future at Hillsborough.

He will undoubtedly have a winter reshuffle on his mind and certain squad players will be lined up for the axe so funds and wages are freed up to bring in a higher quality of player.

Sheffield Wednesday's unequivocal ambition is to win promotion to the Premier League after falling agonisingly close at the last hurdle in 2015/16.

The Owls were edged out 1-0 by Hull at Wembley and consigned to another year in the second tier.

But they sit one point and one place outside the play-off zone as they aim to bounce back, which sets a reasonable platform for a promotion push, despite a shaky start.

With a big squad at his disposal, Carvalhal should look to get rid of these 2 players that he doesn't need.

Sergiu Bus

I think it's probably time that Sheffield Wednesday and Sergiu Bus just part ways for each other's sake.

The Romanian striker joined on deadline day in 2015 but almost two years on and he has featured just ten times in all competitions, with just the one goal.

The 24-year-old needs to return to his native Romania to reignite his stalling career, which has never really lifted off the ground in England.

Lewis McGugan

Sheffield Wednesday just couldn't shift Lewis McGugan off their books in the summer despite not giving him a squad number and clearly making him available for transfer.

The central midfielder has not played a single minute of football for the Owls this season and is almost certain to leave in January.

The 28-year-old would be a key addition for a lower-end Championship club or a promotion chasing League One side as he offers goals and experience from midfield.

Sheffield Wednesday fans - what do you think? Is it time to get rid of these 2? Who would you like to see leave the club in January? Let us know in the comments below...
