Sheffield United head into a hotly awaited clash with Leeds United at the weekend, on the back of a solid win at Brentford, that leaves the Blades just three points behind leaders Norwich City.

The Brentford win saw a rare start for striker Conor Washington, who joined the Blades in the summer on a one-year deal having been released by QPR and the 26-year-old put in a performance that impressed fans who took to Twitter.

So has Washington done enough to get a start at the weekend?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

I think so.

I like Washington, I’m sure there’s quality in there, somewhere.

He’s better than McGoldrick or Clarke but he needs game time.

The Blades seem to win with whoever they choose to start up front!

George Harbey

When the team news emerges, Blades fans weren’t happy that Washington was starting ahead of Sharp - but how wrong they’d turn out to be.

The forward ran his socks off and produced an assist for Clarke, and was a nightmare for Brentford throughout.

It’s definitely something worth considering.

Jay Taylor

He was mightily impressive in midweek, and with the injury of Leon Clarke, I see no reasons as to why he can’t feature more.

It has been a stop-start time at Bramall Lane for Conor Washington since his summer arrival, but with injuries and suspensions bound to take their toll, Chris Wilder could have a gem in the striker if he can play like that consistently.

There’s no harm in giving the Northern Ireland international a proper chance in the side this weekend.
