If losing to your rivals for automatic promotion was not enough, Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa is also having to contend with the fact that his keeper Kiko Casilla faces a ban, following a straight red card and also centre-back star Pontus Jansson is sidelined for up to three weeks after picking up a knee injury in the same match.

Jansson has had to pull out of the Sweden squad for the upcoming Euro qualifiers with a knee issue, having had to see out the final minutes of the defeat to the Blades in goal, after taking the gloves following Casilla's dismissal.

So how big of a blow is it to Leeds losing Jansson to injury?

We discuss......

Gary Hutchinson

“Every injury is a blow.

“When you’ve eight matches left and are in dire need of points, even more so.

“I wonder if it might be one knock too far for Bielsa’s side.”

Jacob Potter

"It’s come at the worst time possible.

"The injury didn’t look good and I think he was foolish to try and play on with it as he could have made it worse.

"I think his absence could send their season spiraling out of control."

George Harbey

"It would be a massive blow for Leeds.

"Thankfully, his injury hasn’t really come at the worst of times with the international break on the horizon, but if it is a lengthy injury then it’s bad news.

"Will Berardi finally return to the first-team?"

Jay Taylor

“It could be fatal.

“It remains to be seen if the injury is as bad as it seemed on the day – but it will knock Leeds.

“Jansson’s injury has come at a good time in that there is a two-week break for him to try to get fit ahead of the Millwall game.”
