Derby County host Stoke City tonight knowing that only a win will do if they are to get back into the play-off mix, as they currently sit in seventh place, trailing sixth placed Bristol City on goal difference.
Rams manager Frank Lampard has confirmed that 25-year-old winger Tom Lawrence is available for tonight, as reported in the Derby Telegraph, following the ankle problem that has kept him out for the last six matches.
So how big a boost for Derby is it that Lawrence is back?
“It’s come at the best possible time.
“Derby have struggled in recent weeks and they’ve been crying out for a player of his quality to provide the creative spark.
“His return could help aid Derby’s play-off push at the late stages of this season.”
“He’s such an underrated talent.
“He’s got drive from the middle of the park and can finish with aplomb.
“He’s perhaps the best player the club own outright.
“Having him back is massive.”
“A considerable one when you think that Mason Mount is still out.
“Derby have lacked some creativity in the middle in recent weeks, and Lawrence provides that.
“It is certainly a boost for Lampard to have him back.”
