Despite having a good season last year, Sheffield Wednesday couldn't quite do enough to gain promotion to the Championship, losing in the play-off semi-final against Sunderland.

Therefore, Darren Moore is now putting together a side that is able to compete in League One next season and go that step further to gain promotion to the Championship.

The Owls boss has made some good signings so far and according to a report from Wales Online, he is now keen to recruit 20-year-old Kyle Joseph from Swansea City.

The forward made ten Championship appearances last season but spent the first half of the year on loan with Cheltenham in League One scoring four goals in 24 appearances.

With that in mind, we asked FLW's Sheffield Wednesday fan pundit James Mappin for his thoughts on the potential signing: "I've got to admit, Kyle Joseph is not a player that I know of a lot to be honest but having a look, obviously he was on loan at Cheltenham last season so he has played at this level.

"I've spoken quite a lot about getting players that have played in League One. I think that's something that we didn't have last season, we had a lot of Championship quality but not much experience in League One and it is a lot different.

"He's young, he's only 20-years-old, quite a lot of players we've got in our squad at the moment are airing on the side of 30-years-old and above so it's good to see that youth coming in if we do sign him.

"Obviously Mallik Wilks, that looks like it's not off but it's starting to stall  so we're obviously keeping our options open.

"We need another forward, I know he is versatile and can play in that wing-back role as well which is a bit different, I know Darren Moore likes players to have multiple positions in their arsenal.

"So yeah it's certainly exciting and hopefully we can get it across the line now."

The Verdict:

These would be another good addition to Darren Moore's side this summer. As James points out, he is a player with experience in the league which is key if the Owls are seeking for promotion from the league next season.

The 20-year-old has shown he has plenty of potential so far and his talents will no doubt increase the more game time he gets coming his way.

Furthermore, he provides a versatility that Wednesday could definitely make use of in their side next season and it opens up their options.
