Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa will be preparing for his first match following the international break in the knowledge that he is likely to have to do without defender Pontus Jansson.

Jansson returned home early from international duty as the foot injury he had sustained in the 4-1 defeat to West Brom stopped him from playing for his country.

Bielsa will be hoping the injury to Jansson is not too severe, as he is already short of defensive options with Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi both out.

Plus there is a question mark over Tom Pearce having suffered a bruised metatarsal in the West Brom defeat.

So who replaces Jansson for the Bristol City clash?

We discuss.....

Alfie Burns

Conor Shaughnessy seems the right man to step in if Jansson misses out against the Robins.

There seems to be real panic amongst supporters, but Shaughnessy did well at centre-back last season.

If he’s only covering short-term, Leeds should be able to manage.

Jay Taylor

I don’t think Leeds United have the depth to be able to have a solid replacement at the back with Pontus Jansson and Gaetano Berardi out - Marcelo Bielsa could change to a back three.

But ultimately I see Conor Shaughnessy coming into the side as a right-back with Stuart Dallas switching to centre-half.

Failing that, I would imagine it will be a back three of Dallas, Liam Cooper and Barry Douglas.

George Dagless

I'd not be shocked if Kalvin Phillips came in.

The midfielder has dropped into defence at times and Bielsa might be tempted to use him in the centre-half role.

It's certainly a real headache.
