Sunderland have dropped off the pace in League One in recent weeks, having picked up a few too many draws that now leaves them 11 points off top spot, despite having three games in hand.
Five 1-1 draws in the last eight league fixtures has seen the Black Cats drop to fourth in the table with Luton Town on top, Barnsley up to second and Portsmouth down to third.
So should Sunderland fans be worried at the Black Cats’ faltering recent form?
“Yes, any break in form has to be a worry.
“The Black Cats have a strong squad and should be putting teams like Oxford to bed early.
“Other sides are just finding their form, but Jack Ross has a dilemma to solve.
“I still think they’ll be fine.”
“It’s certainly a concern.
“Sunderland might still be in the promotion race, but their inability to win matches at the moment has got to be a real worry for Jack Ross’ side.
“They need to turn these draws into wins at the earliest of opportunities, otherwise it could cost them dearly.”
“I don’t think they should be too worried about the run, it’s just the timing of it.
“Every team has a blip throughout the season, and unfortunately for the Black Cats, it is coming at completely the wrong time.
“Everyone is winning around them, which is the worrying part.”
“Every team has a blip in the season, some more than once, some longer than others.
“Sunderland are in the midst of theirs, but with Will Grigg ready and willing to aid the team as well as the return of Charlie Wyke amongst others, it could be over real soon.
“Now is not the time to be worried, but the galvanise the team to get them out of the rut they find themselves in to advance past it and into a better vein of form heading towards the end of the season.”
