Sheffield United are back in the Premier League and Chris Wilder's attention has already switched to building a squad capable of surviving.

The Blades boss released five of his first-team squad earlier this week and put a further seven on the transfer list as he clears space ahead of expected arrivals.

And, there was positive news on that front for the boss, with co-owner Kevin McCabe promising the manager a 'healthy' budget, as reported by the Mirror.

So, how much of a boost is that for the club?

We take a look...

George Brooks

"It's definitely a boost for Sheffield United and Chris Wilder will be looking to considerably strengthen his squad in the summer.

"It gives him the option to compete with their Premier League rivals, but they should not go crazy.

"We all saw what happened with Fulham last season and Sheffield United should learn from their mistakes."

Gary Hutchinson

"Even a huge one isn’t always an advantage.

"Knowing they’re not having to be thrifty is good. Also, knowing Wilder is backed is good too.

"He has proven himself to be very shrewd indeed."

George Harbey

"It’s great news for all concerned with the club.

"United have had an incredible season to say the least, and it’s clear that their squad is such a tight-knit group who have fantastic spirit and character.

"But I think even they would admit that signings need to be made in the summer if they want to stay in the Premier League, and Chris Wilder is a man who is likely to spend wisely no matter the budget they are given."

Ben Lang

"It is certainly a boost, as they do need to strengthen ahead of the PL.

"However, I think it is important that the nucleus of the squad is kept together, so any potential signings should be thought through carefully.

"Maybe they just need a handful of top quality signings. The budget should be spent on achieving that."
