Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich has been a revelation under manager Marcelo Bielsa this season, with many fans surely amazed at the turnaround in a player who was sent out on loan to FC Utrecht for the last campaign.

In his pre-match press conference (13.01pm March 28) ahead of Leeds' clash with Millwall this weekend, Bielsa highlighted how Klich was almost shipped out from Elland Road before turning in an impressive showing in pre-season.

"It's been crazy.

"I never envisaged seeing such a turnaround from a player whose Leeds United look dead and buried last season.

"Hats off to Bielsa for this one though, he's put his faith and trust in the Polish midfielder and he's truly rewarded that faith with a plethora of top-class performances."

“It shows the incredible turnaround the Pole has had in Leeds.

“He’s been magnificent this season, and without him at the start of the campaign, Leeds wouldn’t have got off to such a good start.

“In truth, he probably deserves a new deal, he’s been that good.”

Jay Taylor

“It would not have surprised me in the least after his spell at Elland Road last season.

“Having been loaned out and given little time to play, it made sense he would look to force a move away.

“But along came Bielsa and gave him a huge confidence booster and look how he is repaying his manager now.”
