It's been a mediocre season for Pep Clotet's Birmingham City this season.
One player who was signed by the Spaniard back in July of last year was Dan Crowley, with the former Arsenal midfielder arriving at St Andrew's with a relative amount of hype and expectation.
The 22-year-old has made 29 appearances in the Championship this term for the Blues, recording one goal and five assists.

With this in mind, what have you made of Dan Crowley's season at Birmingham? Did you expect more from him?

It's been an up and down season for Crowley, who has impressed me at times but has also been anonymous on a number of occasions.

That's hardly surprising from a 22-year-old that's really just getting to grips with the pace of the Championship, having arrived from Eredivisie last summer.

Given how well he performed for Willem II in the Dutch top tier last term, I was hoping to see a bit more from him but I don't think that's all down to Crowley.

He's mostly been used as a wide player by the Blues this term and I don't think he's quite as effective as when he features in attacking midfield. Hopefully, he gets the chance to do that next term and we see more of his best.

I think Crowley, much like the rest of his teammates, have endured a solid season in the Championship without really blowing anybody away.

It was obviously a bit of a coup when they announced his signing back in the summer, and he has been a really creative, energetic and key player for Blues since his move to St. Andrew’s.

Five assists isn’t a bad record at all in the Championship, especially when you also consider that he’s encountered a couple of frustrating injury problems since joining Birmingham and spent a bit of time on the sidelines.

Having played for so many clubs at such a young age, it was all about him settling down and finding a permanent place to adapt to this season, and fans should be excited to see what he brings to the table next term under a new manager.

Can you name these 13 hidden ex-Birmingham City players? Have a go now!

George Dagless

Perhaps a bit yeah.

He was always going to have a slight adaptation period joining a new club and showed some good stuff early on but has perhaps fizzled out a little bit.

That can happen, though, and he is still young so I don't think that you can write him off just yet.

He's a good player and the right manager coming in at Birmingham could seriously improve him and get the best out of him.

If he can show what he can do more consistently, Birmingham have got a fine player on their hands and that would be a boost as they look to try and climb the table for next season.
