Opinion is nearly always split amongst football fans on the importance of the results in pre-season fixtures.

If you are an optimist and you win it's a great sign for the season. If you lose, you see it as fitness in the tank. These matches don't matter anyway!

If you are a pessimist and you lose, however, suddenly the season is looking very bleak and you are definitely in for a terrible campaign.

For Leeds United, pre-season has been a tricky period.

They kicked off their matches surrounded by negativity at the lacklustre transfer business that had preceded them and that mood seems to have infiltrated the team.

A narrow win against Forest Green Rovers is their only victory so far, which was followed by 1-1 draws to both York City and Southend United.

But should Leeds fans actually be worried by the poor pr-eseason form?

We discuss...

George Dagless

Absolutely.

It's been an awful summer and the next two weeks are massive for the club.

I'd imagine Marcelo Bielsa is far from impressed.

Jay Taylor

Results matter little in games building up to the new season.

Pre-season is of paramount importance to get players match-sharp and in peak physical shape to wade through a 46 game season.

In terms of getting some momentum and form, in that aspect, results matter.

They always matter to supporters, however, so you can understand their frustration.

Losing in pre-season kills any optimism fans have, and with Leeds having a dire transfer window thus far, there is little for Elland Road fans to be happy about.

Disappointed, yes; worried, no. Pre-season throws up all kinds of results, how far you are into your preparations dictates that to a certain degree.

Chris Gallagher

Not at all.

It's all about building fitness and giving an opportunity to younger players to show their talent.

The result is irrelevant and all that matters is the players are prepared and ready to take on Stoke in the opener.

Gary Hutchinson

If there's any Leeds fans worried about a lack of wins, they're concern is wildly misplaced.

Winning games isn't the key in pre-season, getting fitness and integrating new players is. They should be worried about the lack of new players to integrate,
