Cardiff City have had a mixed start to the season and as the Bluebirds return from the international break, manager Neil Warnock will be hoping his side can hit the ground running with three points this Friday night away at Derby County.

For Cardiff striker Robert Glatzel, the match will give him another chance to open his scoring account, having failed to find the net in five league appearances this season, since arriving from Heidenheim in the summer for a reported £5.5m fee.

So how can Glatzel's start to life at Cardiff City be best summed up?

We discuss........

Chris Thorpe

"Thus far I would say it has been a pretty poor start for Glatzel all round.

"He has cut an isolated figure for Cardiff up front for the Bluebirds, having not found the net in his first few games for the club, Warnock may have cause for concern.

"What I will say though, is that the Championship is one of the toughest leagues in the world, and certainly some foreign imports take longer to adapt to it than others, which may be the case with Glatzel.

"To summarise, it's still early days for the German, so I would say we should look at how he's got on after 20 games rather than 6!"

Ned Holmes

“It’s been a really tough start for him, he just doesn’t seem to have quite found his feet in the Championship yet.

“It certainly won’t have helped that he has been playing in a pretty inconsistent Cardiff City side.

“The 25-year-old has been busy, taking 13 shots, proving seven shot assists, and having 17 touches in the opposition box, according to Wyscout.

“However, at the end of the day strikers are judged on their goals and his return at this point, no goals in five starts, has been disappointing.”

Louie Chandler

"I would say it has been promising.

"The German arrived with plenty of hype and, although he is yet to find the back of the net for the Bluebirds, he has acclimatised well to the Championship.

"You get the feeling that he just needs one to go in for him and the rest will quickly follow.

"After their slow start to the season, however, the pressure will be growing on him to deliver the goals so it will be interesting to see how he continues to handle that in the coming weeks."
