‘It’s been a bumpy ride’ – Huddlestone delivers message to Hull City fans following move to Derby

New Derby County signing Tom Huddlestone delivered a heartfelt message to Hull City supporters after sealing his move away from the Tigers back to the Rams yesterday.

In a report by The Hull Daily Mail, the England international had some kind words for the supporters of Hull, the club he has spent the last four seasons with.

“I have to say a massive thank you for the past 4 years. It’s been a bumpy ride along the way but enjoyable none the less.” said Huddlestone.

“The fans have been excellent with me, you are what make a football club what it is. Without you HCAFC wouldn’t be a shadow of itself. And for that you should be proud.  A thank you to the staff along the way also, from Steve Bruce to Leonid Slutsky each manager as had their own styles and I have learnt off each and every one of them.

“Medical staff, kitmen, chef, tea ladies all don’t realise what a great job you do and make it an enjoyable environment to work in.” he added.

The words are a testament to a player who always appears to have gone about his business in a professional manner, and has delivered some excellent performances along the way. He scored a crucial goal in the FA Cup semi final win over Sheffield United three years ago, in what is potentially his biggest moment in a Tigers shirt.

He rejoins the Rams some 12 years after leaving the club initially, and will be hoping to help fire the club back to the Premier League.

Derby fans, what do you think to the signing of Huddlestone? Give us your thoughts in the comments!
